  • ADHD Coaching and Tutoring

Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) presents patterns of inattention, hyperactivity and impulsivity that can impact learning and daily life. With ADHD coaching and specialist tutoring, we help students of all ages and abilities develop focus, organisation and self-regulation skills needed to succeed. The first signs of ADHD usually appear in childhood and often intensify during key transitions such as starting school or moving to secondary school. For many, the reduced structure of sixth form or university exposes significant challenges with time management, planning coursework and remembering short-term tasks. Our coaches teach evidence-based strategies that strengthen executive-function skills and boost academic confidence.

  • Autism Tutoring and Student Support

Autism tutoring prepares students on the spectrum with strategies that use their strengths in pattern recognition, attention to detail and deep focus. Our specialist tutors create sensory-friendly, structured lessons that work with your communication skills, flexible thinking, and executive-function habits. Because autism is a spectrum, every learner’s needs are different. Some love clear, direct instructions, and visual schedules; others prefer structure around transitions or unexpected changes. Busy classrooms, bright lights or noises can feel overwhelming, so we allow quiet breaks, high quality audio, and predictable routines into each session. With these adjustments, autistic students can fully engage in learning.

  • Dyslexia Tutoring and Literacy Support

Dyslexia tutoring is designed to support reading, spelling and writing by building structure with multisensory techniques proven to support phonological awareness. Our specialist tutors work with learners’ strengths: creative thinking, problem-solving, visual-spatial reasoning. Because dyslexia is specific to the brain’s language-processing networks, students may read more slowly, confuse similar-sounding words, or struggle with spelling even though their overall intelligence is average or above. Early identification plus targeted, one-to-one tuition makes the biggest difference.

  • Dyspraxia Tutoring

Dyspraxia tutoring helps with stroke-ordered handwriting practice, keyboard shortcuts, balance drills designed to build muscle memory and confidence. Dyspraxia, or Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD), affects movement planning rather than intelligence. Students may need extra time to master handwriting, note-taking, or PE skills because their brains process spatial awareness differently. Modelling tasks visually and breaking up multi-step routines helps learners organise movements and complete schoolwork independently.

  • Dyscalculia Tutoring and Maths Coaching

Dyscalculia tutoring supports number anxiety and builds mathematical confidence. Our specialist tutors connect each skill to everyday scenarios like shopping or cooking for better retention. Dyscalculia is a difference in how the brain processes quantities, sequences and some facts. Students often misread numbers, struggle to remember times-tables, or find written calculations frustrating. With patient, one-to-one support students can develop valuable problem-solving skills and grow confident tackling school maths and beyond.

ADHD, autism, and dyslexia are three of the most common special educational needs, though there are many others. A person has special educational needs and disabilities if they have a learning difficulty and/or a disability that requires particular educational support.

How SEN Affects Learning In Students

  • Learning Difficulties and Differences

Students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) may find traditional classroom environments challenging, making it harder to engage with standard teaching methods and progress in their learning. They may experience differences in processing information, focusing, sensory perception, or communication. Providing the right support and adjustments can help them build skills, gain confidence, and have a more positive school experience.

  • Emotional and Behavioural Challenges

Emotional and behavioural differences affect how students with SEN engage with learning and social interactions. Anxiety, frustration, or sensory overload can make it harder to communicate, adapt to changes, or focus. Some students need more time to process information or express their needs in ways others may not expect. These are not barriers but signs that support is needed, such as clear routines, flexible expectations, and sensory tools. A calm, understanding approach helps students feel secure and develop their strengths.

These emotional and behavioural challenges often arise from environments that do not meet a student’s needs. Unclear expectations, overwhelming sensory input, and a lack of structure can increase stress, making everyday activities harder. Recognising this highlights the need for learning spaces that are empathetic, structured, and responsive.

  • Low Self-esteem and Confidence

Students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) may develop low self-confidence and self-esteem if they face ongoing challenges in learning, social situations, or daily tasks without the right support. Struggles with communication, processing information, or sensory experiences can lead to frustration or feelings of inadequacy. However, when given the right tools, encouragement, and supportive environments, they can build confidence and recognise their strengths.

  • Physical Challenges

Individuals with Special Educational Needs (SEN) may face physical challenges such as fine and gross motor skill difficulties, which can affect tasks like writing or participating in sports. They might also experience sensory processing issues, making it hard to tolerate certain environments or stimuli. With tailored support and interventions, these students can improve their physical skills and better manage sensory sensitivities.

  • Concentration

Students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) may find it more challenging to maintain focus, particularly in environments that do not accommodate their individual needs. Sensory sensitivities, processing differences, or anxiety can lead to increased distraction, making it difficult for students to follow instructions or complete tasks.

Additionally, differences in executive functioning are a feature of many neurodivergent conditions, including ADHD, autism and dyslexia. These differences may include challenges filtering out background noise, managing impulses, or shifting attention between tasks, impacting attention regulation. Providing structured environments, clear expectations, and supportive strategies tailored to their specific needs can significantly enhance engagement and help students leverage their strengths.

  • What is Special Educational Needs (SEN) support?

SEN support is extra help for students who find learning harder than others around them. Including specialised teaching, coaching on how to overcome all sorts of challenges, therapy, and one-to-one tutoring.

  • Do I need an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) to use your tutors or coaches?

No. A lot of families self-fund or use school budgets. An EHCP is only required if your local authority is paying for extra support.

  • Can an EHCP funding pay for private tuition?

Yes. Local authorities may approve tuition to help meet the outcomes written up in Section F of an EHCP. We can support with your EHCP application and supply the reports needed for review meetings.

  • How quickly can my child start?

After a free 20-minute call you can meet a tutor within a day. We recommend spending some time speaking to multiple tutors to ensure that you find the best one for you.

  • Do you offer online and in-person sessions?

We offer online lessons and, if tutors are available locally, face-to-face at the pupil’s home or school across the UK.
