Tutoring for students who learn differently

We provide strong subject tutoring with practical support for study skills, organisation, focus and confidence. Many of our students have ADHD, autism, dyslexia, anxiety or related needs, but no diagnosis is required.

A learning space where students feel understood first

Alex was diagnosed with combined-type ADHD as an adult. Growing up, he was often labelled "lazy" or "a daydreamer" in the classroom. Discovering a learning style that suited him changed his relationship with education entirely, and he went on to specialise in Chemistry research before moving full-time into SEN tutoring.

That lived experience shapes how Sunbeam works: a judgement-free environment where neurodivergent students feel recognised, supported, and confident in their ability to learn.

Quick answers to common questions

Frame (1)

We currently work with tutors across the UK. We deliberately keep the team small so every tutor is interviewed, trained, and quality-approved by our team rather than auto-onboarded.

Most large platforms operate as marketplaces with thousands of self-onboarded tutors and no specialist vetting. Sunbeam is the opposite: a small, hand-picked team of SEN-trained tutors, with a free 20-minute introductory call before booking, and a single point of contact for safeguarding and quality.

Tutoring is not a regulated profession in the UK, but every Sunbeam tutor holds an Enhanced DBS certificate, completes regular safeguarding training, and carries professional indemnity insurance. AP Tutoring Ltd is registered with Companies House (no. 14617626) and complies with UK GDPR – see our Data Protection Policy.

Use the “Match me with a tutor” button on any page, or book a free 20-minute introductory call. You’ll speak directly with the tutor you’d be working with – not a sales team – before deciding whether to book.

What support are you looking for?

Select all the areas that apply. This will help us find the right expert.
Academic & subject support
Learning & study skills

Subject tutoring focuses on what is being learned (e.g., “I need help with Algebra.”).
Skills coaching focuses on how it is learned (e.g., “I need help getting organised to study for Algebra.”).

Choose the main path you want to explore first. You’ll be able to review expert profiles before making any decisions.
