It explains what these technologies are and why we use them, as well as your rights to control our use of them.

Stripe may also use its own cookies inside its payment forms, and in the Stripe tools tutors use to set up and manage their payouts, under its own privacy policy. If you choose “Continue with Google” to sign in, you are taken to Google’s sign-in page, where Google uses its own cookies under its own privacy policy; we don’t set any extra cookies for this. When you create an account, Google reCAPTCHA checks that you are not a bot, and Google may set its own cookies or similar technologies under its own privacy policy. Our web app doesn’t use Microsoft Clarity or Bing. Its only non-essential cookies are Google Analytics cookies (such as _ga and _ga_#) and Google Ads cookies (such as _gcl_au), and it sets them only if you accept them in the web app’s cookie banner. Google Ads cookies are set only if you accept both analytics and advertising cookies.

Performance and functionality cookies:

These cookies are used to enhance the performance and functionality of our Website but are non-essential to their use. However, without these cookies, certain functionality (like videos) may become unavailable.

Analytics and customisation cookies:

Our tutor search uses Google Maps to show tutors on a map and to suggest places when you search by town or postcode. On our website, Google Maps loads only when the tutor search shows the map (when you choose the map view or in-person tutoring). In our web app, Google Maps is used when you enter the address for in-person sessions, and when tutors set their location and the area they travel to. Because the map and location search can’t work without it, Google Maps loads whatever you choose in the Cookie Consent Manager. Tutor introduction videos are played using Bunny Stream, and on our website they load only when you press play. When this content loads, these providers receive your IP address (and Google receives what you type into the location search box), and they may set their own cookies or similar technologies under their own privacy policies.

Do you serve targeted advertising?

If you accept advertising cookies, third parties may serve cookies on your computer or mobile device to serve advertising through our Website. These companies may use information about your visits to this and other websites in order to provide relevant advertisements about goods and services that you may be interested in.
