Skills coaching focuses on how it is learned (e.g., “I need help getting organised to study for Algebra.”).

How we help
Every student has their own mix of strengths and challenges so we don’t use generic plans. We hire experienced tutors and give them room to teach in their style. All tutors are carefully interviewed before joining Sunbeam and share our commitment to compassionate, engaging teaching. Each has up-to-date safeguarding training, insurance and an Enhanced DBS certificate.
Our method
Sessions are broken down into 50 minute blocks with varied tasks and, where helpful, short breaks. Tutors start from what the student can already do and build the next step, linking work to current goals so progress shows up day-to-day.
Assistive technology
Used only where helpful and selected to suit the learner. Examples include read-aloud and dictation tools, simple note and planning templates, printable checklists, planners and timers, website/app limiters, and (for STEM) calculator/graphing tools and simulations. We help students use tools independently at home and, where relevant, with exam-centre requirements.
