How we help
Every student has a mix of strengths and barriers so we don’t use generic teaching plans. We hire experienced tutors and give them room to teach in their style. All tutors are interviewed before joining Sunbeam and share our commitment to compassionate, engaging teaching. Each has up-to-date safeguarding training, insurance and an Enhanced DBS certificate.
Our method
Focused 50-minute sessions with varied tasks, short breaks, and plenty of encouragement. Tutors are experts in their field and teach in their own style. We link strategies back to classwork so progress and confidence translates to school.
Assistive technology
Used only where helpful and selected to suit the student. Examples include read-aloud and dictation tools, screen readers, simple writing and form-filling templates, calculator and spreadsheet tools for budgeting, flashcard/retrieval apps, and planners/timers. We help students use tools independently at home and in class.
