Common patterns we see

A Level Physics can become demanding when concepts link together quickly and the question does not give an obvious route through. Autistic students may understand the ideas, but feel thrown by longer questions that combine diagrams, data and written explanations. One early slip can also make the rest of a multi-stage answer feel difficult to recover.

Support works best when the structure is made explicit: what to practise, in what order, and how to decide what the question is asking before choosing a method. Predictable routines and manageable steps can make independent study feel less like a series of guesses.

What progress looks like

01

At A Level, a useful sign is that the student starts managing the layers of a problem before trying to solve it.

02

Longer mechanics or electricity questions begin with a clear inventory: the quantities given, the quantity being asked for, and the equations that might apply.

03

In derivations, each algebraic step is kept visible. Substituting into SUVAT, resolving forces or combining field equations is less likely to become a sudden jump to the final result.

04

When the context changes, they pause to identify what has stayed the same in the Physics. A circuit diagram and an experimental setup may look very different, but the underlying idea may still carry across.

05

Diagrams are used more deliberately. Force arrows, field lines, components or current directions are added before calculation starts, giving the problem a clearer physical shape.

06

Practical and data questions become more familiar in their handling. Gradients, uncertainties and significant figures are approached through a known routine instead of each graph feeling like a brand-new task.

07

They can revisit earlier material, such as moments, energy or exponential change, when it appears inside a later A Level question.

08

A Level Physics can wobble when topics interlock or the wording becomes abstract. The tutor tracks whether your child is becoming more systematic with algebra, diagrams, data and links between topics, then shares that wider picture in regular reviews.

What support are you looking for?

Select all the areas that apply. This will help us find the right expert.
Academic & subject support
Learning & study skills

Subject tutoring focuses on what is being learned (e.g., “I need help with Algebra.”).
Skills coaching focuses on how it is learned (e.g., “I need help getting organised to study for Algebra.”).

Choose the main path you want to explore first. You’ll be able to review expert profiles before making any decisions.
