My experience with special educational needs
I've been tutoring children with special educational needs since 2019, working with students diagnosed with autism, ADHD, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs, and various learning disabilities. Over the years, I've developed a patient, flexible, and creative approach to teaching, tailoring each session to suit the unique needs and learning styles of every child.
A bit about me
I’m a medical graduate with roots in Sri Lanka, and a deep love for nature and lifelong learning. I find joy in the little things like a walk through green spaces, the quiet rhythm of teaching, or discovering a new language (I speak six so far and I’m always eager to learn more!). Teaching has always been close to my heart. There's something truly fulfilling about helping others grow, especially when you can make learning feel exciting and personal. Whether it’s in medicine or education, I’m driven by curiosity, connection, and the belief that every person has the potential to thrive with the right support.
My teaching philosophy
Each child I work with has taught me something new about resilience, creativity, and the power of connection. I’ve learned how to adapt my teaching style sometimes that means breaking things down in a different way, using visual aids, audio books or just taking a moment to listen what the student finds comfortable.

Roshika was so great with my son who is a very shy kid. Her lessons made him open up to different intresting ways of studying. I really appreciate her work. Thank you!
