My experience with special educational needs

I’ve worked with students with various SEN, including autism, ADHD, and dyscalculia, both in one-to-one and classroom settings. I always tailor my teaching to each student’s needs and focus on making learning accessible. I know that many students haven’t received the support they deserve, and I’m passionate about helping bridge that gap. Seeing students grow in confidence when they finally get the right help is what drives me.

A bit about me

I’m super passionate about education and hope to help reform the system in the future to make it more inclusive. I’ve seen how lack of support can hold students back, and I want to be part of the change. My ultimate goal is to become an educational psychologist. Outside of teaching, I love gaming, which helps me connect with students and make learning more engaging.

My teaching philosophy

I focus on making learning fun, accessible, and tailored to each student. Confidence is a big thing—I want students to know it’s okay to make mistakes and learn from them. I use different teaching methods depending on what works best, whether it’s visual aids, step-by-step breakdowns, or linking topics to real-life interests. My goal is to help students believe in themselves and actually enjoy learning!

Christina is an absolutely wonderful tutor. She has been a great match for my teenage son who was diagnosed with ADHD at the start of Year 10. He has always struggled with Maths and his general academic confidence was quite low. Christina really understands his learning style and adapts her sessions to keep him engaged, reinforce his knowledge & skills, and strengthen his confidence. He said recently that he "quite likes maths now" which is high praise.
