My experience with special educational needs
I have taught a wide range of students with a range of different SEN conditions which includes those with maths-specific dyslexia, ADHD, many that were in varying scales on the Autism spectrum and some with specific visual impairments (such as visual stress disorder).
A bit about me
With 9 years of experience, I have worked with over 1500 students with a wide range of ages, backgrounds, learning abilities and a range of different special educational needs. Having experienced the difficulties of science and maths myself and having taught the subjects for many years, I can often identify what a student struggles with in a subject before they realise it themselves, helping them to identify the difficulties they need to overcome to fully grasp the concepts. There is always more than one way to understand something, so I am able to quickly assess each student’s learning styles and difficulties to come up with a method to explain a concept for a student to be able to grasp – where they may not have understood before. Having only been diagnosed with ADHD as an adult, I have had to independently cope with the difficulties that comes with it and still excel, so I am able to also advise others in overcoming the difficulties they would also face.
My teaching philosophy
While most students are different, I found the best approach is by trial and error. Experience is often the best form of learning, and after teaching the basics, I help my students go through practise problems until they have the confidence to try independently. Especially with subjects like maths and science, where students find that they don't know where to even begin, building their confidence is vital in providing encouragement. Trial and error isn't just restricted to the student however, if I find that one method of explaining doesn't work for a student, then we try again from a different approach until it works for them

His explanations are excellent and easy to understand due to his own thorough understanding of the subject. I've bumped up 2 grades since he's started tutoring me !

I think Asit was a wonderful tutor! He was able to help me understand topics I previously struggled a lot in Mathematics with great speed. His explanations are extensive and thorough. I would highly recommend him!
