My experience with special educational needs
I have 3 years of experience working with SEND students including autism, ADHD, SEMH and more. Supporting students from Year 8 to Year 13.
A bit about me
I graduated with a First-Class Biomedical Science (2022) from King’s College London. I recently graduated with a Master's in Physician Associate Studies from St. Georges University London. Alongside tutoring, I will soon begin practice in general practice. Since each student learns differently, I adapt my teaching style to meet their specific requirements, making sure that my classes are stimulating, well-organised, and encouraging. My experience has taught me the value of tolerance, flexibility, and boosting self-esteem in pupils who might find it difficult to study using conventional techniques. I have a strong desire to establish a welcoming, stress-free classroom environment where students can ask questions and advance at their own pace.
My teaching philosophy
Clear Goals: A PowerPoint introducing the key concepts of each lesson at the beginning. Targeted questions: This aids in adjusting the lesson to each student's needs while assessing prior knowledge. Detailed Content: Topics are divided into manageable sections, allowing information to be absorbed more easily. Focus of real-life application means students can relate well. Active Learning: Videos and practical exercises help students grasp concepts quicker. Exam Practice: Detailed feedback and exam-style questions are provided at the end of our session Resources for Follow-Up: Worksheets and practice questions are given to students for self-revision. This will be reviewed in our next session. Other considerations – incorporating breaks to help students refresh and relax, an important element to build long-term memory. This method has proved to instil clarity, engagement, and confidence in tackling exam questions, making exam periods less stressful.

Akshar is an excellent tutor with wealth of knowledge. He is professional, punctual and detail-oriented. My son successfully passed his GCSE Maths and Sciences by grade 8&9. I would recommend Akshar!!
