My experience with special educational needs
I have 6 years of experience working with students who have a variety of special education needs, such as dyslexia, autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. Over the years, I have worked closely with teachers, families, and students to implement effective strategies that support students' success. This involved creating individualised support plans, modifying educational materials, and creating trusting connections to increase their confidence and engagement. I have a strong desire to establish a welcoming and encouraging learning environment where each student can realise their greatest potential.
A bit about me
I have worked closely with students who have autism, ADHD, and other learning needs in educational settings. I strongly believe in the value of encouragement, patience, and continued support in order for students to succeed. In addition, I have personal experience helping friends and family who have special education needs, which has deepened my awareness of the difficulties and advantages associated with various learning styles. Every child can shine with the correct support, in my opinion, and I always try to make learning seem exciting and doable.
My teaching philosophy
I take a flexible, encouraging, and student-centered approach to teaching. In order to adjust lessons to meet each learner's unique needs, I take the time to understand their goals, challenges, and strengths. I help students develop their skills and confidence by breaking things down into manageable steps and using a calm, encouraging style. I like to ensure that I establish a safe environment where students feel free to ask questions, make mistakes, and celebrate their accomplishments.

Our daughter really enjoys her one to one sessions with Khadija. She is in secondary school and has autism, and Khadija has been very patient and kind with her. We’ve seen a big improvement in her confidence, time management and everyday skills. She now feels more able to try things on her own, which has made a real difference at home and at school. We are very grateful for the support and would happily recommend Khadija to other families.
