My experience with special educational needs
I’ve tutored students with autism, ADHD, and dyslexia, and through that, I’ve learned how important it is to adapt to the student, not just the diagnosis. I’m currently taking a Level 3 SEND course because I genuinely want to help people and support learners who might not always get the understanding they deserve. I’ve created tailored resources for my students to help them access content in a way that suits how they learn best. I approach every student with flexibility, patience, and respect; making sure your strengths are central to how we work together and build on these strenghts.
A bit about me
I'm an undergraduate BSc (Hons) Artificial Intelligence and Robotics student with an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service and membership with The Tutors’ Association. I’ve tutored students with autism, ADHD, and dyslexia, always adapting to their individual needs. With a strong academic background (11 A-levels) and going beyond Grade 8 in multiple instruments, I bring both structure and creativity to my sessions. I'm flexible, learner-focused, and passionate about helping each student thrive in their own unique way.
My teaching philosophy
I always adapt my teaching to the person, not just the subject or the diagnosis. I focus on what they need and how they learn best, whether that’s preparing for an exam or building real understanding and confidence. I use exam-style questions to reduce stress and boost confidence. I care more about deep understanding than just memorising facts. If you truly understand something, the facts stick anyway and you’re better prepared for anything that comes after exams too. I record all sessions on Bramble.io, so you can revisit anything anytime and feel supported even between lessons.

My son is 13yrs old and has been tutored by Nika for over a year. During this time Nika has considerably enriched Lincoln’s knowledge of both maths and science. Nika’s lessons are extremely engaging but also pitched to be challenging, she encourages learning and her lessons result in deepening understanding and proficiency in the subject. Nika is an inspiring and talented teacher.

- Good PowerPoint slides with diagrams to explain the information - Uses Save My Exams questions when the topic is over (exam-style questions) - Tips for the exams She is nice and friendly during the session, and good at explaining the questions that helped me when I was struggling in the school lessons. What I struggled the most was the occasional background noises during online sessions.

The difference in our daughter is amazing. Nika is so incredibly patient, knowledgeable and supportive. Taking the time to understand the way our daughter thinks and knows how to get the very best from her. Our daughter is now so much more confident in what she is able to accomplish. She has absolutely thrived in the subject. What’s more enjoys her sessions. She looks forward to them finding them inspiring and valuable to her GCSE journey. Her results since working with Nika, are testament to how brilliant Nika is.
